Antique Khmer Style Khmer Bronze Mounted Buddha Head - 29cm/12"
Measures - (Height) 29cm/12"
An antique Khmer style bronze Buddha head from Cambodia.
The Buddha has a peaceful countenance with downcast introspective eyes and a firm brow. His eyes are downcasts as he extends grace to devotees.
He has a large flame shaped ushnisha protuberance on top of his head, symbolizing his high level of spiritual development. Arched eyebrows, moustache, expressive lips, aquiline nose and open eyes define the face. His earlobes are stretched long from a youth spent as a prince wearing heavy gold earrings.
The Buddha is mounted on a wood base.
The sculpture provides the perfect traditional in appearance Buddha to bring serenity and timeless style to your home, office or sacred space.
