An antique Khmer style, Angkor Wat style Lokeshvara statue.
This finely cast bronze depicts Lokeshvara standing in samapada, the perfectly balanced pose that expresses unwavering inner stability. His many arms radiate gracefully around him, while he is clad in a short sampot with a distinctive fishtail pleat and jeweled sash that recall the elegance of classic Angkor Wat sculpture.
The face is broad and gentle, with a softly contoured, characteristically Khmer profile and a deeply serene, downcast expression. Heavy-lidded eyes, delicately arched brows that meet in relief above a well-shaped nose, and wide lips framed by a second incised line create a subtle, enigmatic smile. Fine beauty lines at the neck further enhance his noble, contemplative presence.
