An antique Thai‑style bronze Ganesha, standing four‑armed in regal poise and richly adorned with traditional ornaments.
The deity is shown frontally on a stepped pedestal, his rounded belly, softly modelled limbs and compact proportions giving the sculpture a warm, approachable character that still feels distinctly royal.
In his four hands Ganesha holds a chakra (discus), the fragment of his broken tusk, a fly whisk and a lotus bud—each attribute adding a layer of meaning. The chakra speaks of protection and the cutting through of obstacles; the tusk recalls his legendary sacrifice in service of wisdom; the fly whisk evokes authority and the gentle clearing away of negativity; and the lotus bud symbolises purity and the unfolding of spiritual insight. His trunk curves gracefully to his left, a form traditionally favoured for household images and associated with calm auspiciousness and success in worldly life.
He wears a fishtail‑shaped dhoti, its pleats and flowing central panel crisply defined, and a broad necklace and collar that frame the chest. The tall conical crown, paired with simple bangles and the decorated belt, reinforces his status as both deity and patron of the arts, learning and prosperity.
